About your role

As part of the Data & Analytics Service within Digital Advisory & Transformation, you'll lead the design, development, and delivery of advanced AI, machine learning, and analytics solutions.

You will:

  • Develop and deliver the MSH AI & Data Science roadmap aligned with digital health priorities.
  • Lead AI and ML initiatives from concept through to deployment and evaluation.
  • Build strong partnerships with clinicians, executives, researchers, and industry.
  • Drive innovation while ensuring responsible and ethical AI practices.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a high-performing AI & Data Science team.
  • Represent MSH at state and national forums to advance digital health initiatives.

About you

You're a strategic thinker and hands-on leader with the ability to turn complex data challenges into actionable insights. 

You bring:

  • Proven expertise in AI/ML, data science, and advanced analytics.
  • Strong understanding of health data systems, interoperability, and cloud platforms (Azure/AWS).
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement AI strategy and roadmaps.
  • Experience leading multidisciplinary technical teams in data and analytics.
  • Relevant graduate degree or related qualification and/or combination of industry related experience.
  • Agile based certification and its applicability within an ICT or data led initiative (highly desirable)

The Princess Alexandra Hospital (PAH) is a tertiary health care centre providing care in most major adult specialties. We provide world class health care to Brisbane City's southern suburbs across emergency, medical, mental health and surgical services, including liver and kidney transplant.

We are nationally recognised for our expertise in trauma management and organ transplants and are one of Australia's leading academic and research health centres. The PAH as a major medical research precinct hosts Australia's most advanced medical research facility, the Translational Research Institute (TRI) as well as a new Clinical Research Facility for the discoveries made at TRI to be trialed in a safe clinical environment.

We're expanding our hospital to make sure everyone gets the care they need. We're adding more beds, modernising our buildings, and improving our spaces to treat kidney and cancer patients with all new services and facilities planned to open by 2027.
