YOUR ROLE

The Senior Manager, AI is responsible for leading the strategy, delivery, and governance of Artificial Intelligence across MACS to deliver measurable value for business operations and education related AI capability, while upholding MACS's Catholic mission and values. The Manager, AI accelerates responsible AI adoption across MACS Offices, supported by strong governance, risk management, and capability uplift.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Develop, maintain, and execute the MACS AI strategy and roadmap aligned to MACS2030, Digital Ambition, and enterprise priorities, including clear value hypotheses and benefits measures.
  • Establish and steward AI governance, policies, standards, and guidelines to ensure safe, ethical, and responsible AI adoption consistent with Catholic identity and the dignity of the person.
  • Lead the design, delivery, and operation of robust, supportable, and outcome‑focused AI solutions (including ML and GenAI) which utilise the full potential of MACS data assets in collaboration with data, architecture, integration, cyber security, and business solution teams.
  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements, including data privacy, child safety, professional integrity, and audit obligations, embedding privacy‑by‑design and safety‑by‑design principles.
  • Identify, assess, and manage AI‑related risks including bias, privacy, security, and operational impact, implementing appropriate controls, human‑in‑the‑loop safeguards, monitoring, and change governance.
  • Enable modern AI platforms and capabilities (e.g. Azure AI/ML, MLOps, GenAI platforms), including vendor and partner engagement and partnership with internal delivery teams such as Applications and Integration Engineering or Data Engineering teams
  • Maintain comprehensive documentation, standards, and artefacts (e.g. design decisions, model documentation, DPIAs/PIAs) to ensure transparency, traceability, and audit readiness.

ABOUT YOU

  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering AI strategy, roadmaps, and solutions that deliver measurable business or educational outcomes.
  • Proven experience establishing governance frameworks, policies, and standards for safe, ethical, and responsible AI.
  • Strong understanding of regulatory, privacy, and risk considerations, particularly within education or similarly regulated environments.
  • Demonstrated capability identifying and managing AI risks, including bias, privacy, security, and operational impacts, supported by robust controls and governance.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate across technical, educational, and executive audiences.
  • Demonstrated discipline in documentation, assurance, and audit‑ready practices.
