Our business is built on innovation, integrity, and a deep connection to the land, and we are committed to continuous improvement in everything we do – from paddock to plate. Are you a talented and passionate Computer Vision Engineer wishing to join an expanding AI team? Join us in building cutting-edge AI systems that transform visual data into intelligent insights and impactful technologies.

The Role: Computer Vision Engineer

We have a full-time, permanent opportunity for a Computer Vision Engineer to join our expanding Technology team based in Perth's CBD office with frequent travel to operational sites as required. You will help lead the design, development and deployment of AI and computer vision solutions across Harvest Road's operations. Working closely with the technology team, operational leaders and external partners, you will drive the application of machine learning and visual AI technologies to improve efficiency, quality control and decision-making across the business.

Within this role, you will have significant scope to shape how AI is embedded across Harvest Road's vertically integrated operations, building and maintaining models for applications such as livestock monitoring, product quality inspection, and supply chain automation. You will be a hands-on engineer who is equally comfortable building production-grade models, collaborating with operational stakeholders, and translating business problems into technical solutions. Supported by business intelligence teams and external partners where appropriate, you will work across both on-premise and cloud environments, deploying models to local compute infrastructure at operational sites while leveraging cloud platforms where suitable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop and deploy computer vision and machine learning models for operational use cases including livestock monitoring, quality inspection and process automation.
  • Collaborate with operational teams to identify and prioritise AI use cases that deliver measurable value across the business.
  • Build and maintain robust ML pipelines for data ingestion, model training, evaluation and deployment in production environments.
  • Drive procurement of camera hardware and imaging infrastructure across operational sites, ensuring reliable capture and integration with AI systems.
  • Integrate computer vision systems with existing operational technology, cameras, sensors and data infrastructure across Harvest Road sites.
  • Monitor model performance in production and implement continuous improvement processes to maintain accuracy and reliability.

About You:

  • Bachelor's Degree (preferably in computer science, electrical engineering, data science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience).
  • Demonstrable hands-on experience delivering computer vision solutions in a professional setting.
  • Python.
  • Computer vision techniques (object detection, image segmentation, classification).
  • ML model training, evaluation and production deployment.
  • Strong analytical thinking and ability to translate business problems into technical solutions.
  • Current class 'C' driver's licence.

What's In It For You?

Our business endeavours to provide a safe, encouraging and family-oriented work environment to all staff, to ensure you have the necessary support to achieve your best results. Principally located at OneNinety in Perth's CBD close to parking and public transport options, we also offer:
