On 1 January 2026, Alfred Health will come together with Kooweerup Regional Health Service, Peninsula Health, Bass Coast Health and Gippsland Southern Health Service to create Bayside Health, a newly merged health service with more than 22,000 employees caring for a community of over 1.2 million Victorians. The new health service will provide people with the best possible care with services that support them throughout their lives. The merger will also strengthen our workforce, providing new training, education and career opportunities. Subject to final approval on 1 January 2026, all employees from the five health services will transfer to Bayside Health.

Alfred Health’s Data Analytics Service (DAS) is transforming how data and AI shape patient care, operations, and research. We’re looking for a Senior Data Scientist to lead the design, development, and deployment of advanced machine learning and AI solutions that make a measurable difference to patients, clinicians, and the organisation.

This is a hands-on role where you’ll apply your technical expertise to complex healthcare problems and contribute to the development of data science strategy and practice across Alfred Health. You’ll collaborate with clinicians, researchers, and leaders to turn data into meaningful, actionable insights that drive real-world impact.

Lead design and deployment of ML/AI models across clinical, operational, and research domains

Provide technical expertise and guidance to other data scientists and analysts

Communicate insights clearly to technical and non-technical audiences

Contribute to maturing data science standards and delivery frameworks

Partner with researchers on grant applications and translation of research into practice
