About The Role

As Lead Engineer (AI), you'll provide technical leadership across Engaging Experiences, shaping how AI is embedded into customer-facing solutions and day‑to‑day engineering practices. You'll partner closely with Engineering, Product and Platform leaders to guide technical direction, validate feasibility and drive high‑quality, AI‑enabled delivery.

This role plays a key part in accelerating Sportsbet's AI‑first mindset, uplifting engineering standards, modernising the SDLC, and coaching teams to safely and effectively use Generative AI and LLMs. You'll influence strategy, delivery and culture, helping teams move faster while maintaining strong quality, performance and responsible AI practices.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Lead adoption of AI‑first engineering practices across Engaging Experiences
  • Provide technical leadership during Explore and Accelerate, shaping AI‑enabled solutions
  • Coach engineers and leaders in safe, effective AI‑assisted development
  • Champion modern SDLC patterns, quality standards and AI‑driven validation
  • Partner with Enterprise AI, Architecture and Product to align platforms and roadmaps
  • Drive delivery quality, performance and observability across teams and partners
  • Foster engineering excellence through communities of practice and mentorship
