About CommBank iQ
CommBank iQ combines the de-identified dataset of Australia’s largest bank, spanning approximately seven million Australians, with data science and analytics expertise of Quantium.
The CommBank iQ Project Analytics chapter is the strategic analytics partner to decision-makers across CommBank iQ and the broader CBA ecosystem. We deliver bespoke analytics that help clients and stakeholders solve complex commercial problems today, while testing and shaping the solutions of tomorrow.
Our work spans Financial Services, Government, Property, Consumer Brands, and Media combining advanced analytics, AI, and strong commercial thinking to drive confident decision-making. The chapter plays a critical role in validating new capabilities, developing reusable IP, and translating innovation into scalable growth opportunities for CommBank iQ.
How will you make an impact?
As an Analyst, you’ll work across diverse projects end-to-end, from problem definition and data exploration through to insight delivery. You’ll contribute to high-quality, client-ready analysis, support disciplined project delivery, and help build CommBank iQ’s reputation as a trusted, AI-first analytics leader.
Key responsibilities and deliverables will include, but are not limited to:
Contribute to strategic bespoke analytics projects by conducting analysis, developing insights, and supporting the delivery of client outcomes
Prepare, explore, and analyse Commonwealth Bank transactional data sets to identify patterns, trends, and insights that address business questions
Support the development of analytical solutions, including data preparation, statistical analysis, and visualisation
Communicate findings clearly through, presentations, and dashboards tailored to different audiences
Collaborate with team members to ensure quality deliverables and meet project timelines
Develop technical skills across the analytics toolkit, including programming languages, statistical methods, and data visualisation tools
Apply quality assurance practices to ensure accuracy and reliability of analytical outputs
Support documentation of analytical approaches, methodologies, and findings
The superpowers you'll be bringing to the team:
Degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Economics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related discipline
Approximately 1-3 years of experience in an analytics role
Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, R, SQL)
Understanding of statistical concepts and analytical techniques
Experience working with data, including data preparation, exploration, and analysis
Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
Effective communication skills, with the ability to explain analytical concepts to non-technical audiences
Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
Enthusiasm for learning and developing technical and consulting capabilities
