What You'll Do:

As part of the wiq Data Science & AI team, your exact scope will scale with your experience level,

• Model & AI System Development: Design, build, and deploy scalable advanced analytics, Machine Learning (ML), and Generative AI systems (including LLM-powered applications, RAG pipelines, and agentic workflows) to solve complex retail challenges.
• End-to-End Delivery: Lead projects through the complete data science and AI lifecycle—from initial data discovery and prompt/model evaluation through to productionization, system integration, and performance monitoring.
• Consulting & Stakeholder Advisory: Translate business questions into rigorous analytical frameworks and effectively "tell the story" of AI and data solutions to influence strategic decisions with non-technical leaders.
• Agile Collaboration: Work within cross-functional Agile squads alongside ML Engineers, Data Engineers, and Product Owners to ensure AI systems deliver measurable commercial outcomes.
• GenAI Innovation & Best Practices: Stay at the forefront of modern AI/ML trends, advocating for ethical AI frameworks, robust evaluation metrics, and "test and learn" methodologies across the team.

What You'll Bring

• Experience: Minimum 2+ years of hands-on experience in a Data Science, Machine Learning, or AI role (higher requirements for Senior / Lead roles).
• Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in a quantitative field (e.g., Mathematics, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Physics, or related).
• Core Technical Stack: Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL, along with core machine learning frameworks (e.g., PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, XGBoost).
• GenAI Systems Engineering: Proven experience building, fine-tuning, or deploying Generative AI solutions and LLM applications (e.g., leveraging frameworks like LangChain, LlamaIndex, or AutoGen).
• Architecture & Retrieval: Hands-on experience with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) architectures, vector databases (e.g., Pinecone, Chroma, Qdrant), prompt engineering, and LLM evaluation techniques.
• AI Safety & Governance: Understanding of AI ethics, guardrails, data privacy, and production safety when deploying LLMs/GenAI tools at scale.
• Consulting Mindset: Strong problem-solving ability with a focus on understanding the "why" behind the solution and its commercial impact.
• Communication: Ability to demystify complex AI/ML architectures into clear, actionable recommendations for business stakeholders.
• Agile & Collaborative: Experience working in iterative environments with modern software engineering practices (version control, CI/CD, unit testing, containerization via Docker/Kubernetes).
• Experience working with large-scale data ecosystems, ideally within retail, FMCG, e-Commerce, or tech-consulting environments.
