About the role

We are looking for a Clinical Data Analyst to join the team supporting the Australian and New Zealand Emergency Laparotomy Audit–Quality Improvement (ANZELA-QI) program. This role helps ensure that hospitals and clinicians have accurate, timely and meaningful data to improve care for patients undergoing emergency laparotomy.

You will work closely with the Project Lead – Research & Analysis and the wider Surgical Audit team to analyse and report on clinical indicators, maintain data quality, and develop clear, useful dashboards. Your work will support hospitals, clinicians and health agencies to monitor outcomes and guide decision-making.

In this role, you will:
•    Analyse, interpret and report on clinical indicators and safety measures for the ANZELA Registry.
•    Maintain and strengthen data processes across collection, transformation, analysis, and visualisation.
•    Prepare and document data definitions, data dictionaries and mappings.
•    Carry out data integrity checks, validation and quality assurance.
•    Extract and transform data from REDCap and other sources using appropriate programming tools.
•    Develop automated approaches to support ongoing monitoring and reporting.
•    Build and maintain interactive dashboards for internal and external stakeholders.
•    Work with hospitals, clinicians and other partners to support improvements in data use and reporting.

This role is full time on a maximum term contract until 30 June 2027 with the possibility of extension.
