What’s the role?

The Data Platforms Domain Data Management support the business owner of the enterprise data and analytical platforms (ADAPT, EDW, WGDW, STGDW) with change and operations of the platforms. The AI Automation Engineer is responsible for reviewing, analysing, and optimising existing business processes to identify opportunities for automation. This role designs, develops, and deploys AI-powered solutions that replace manual workflows with intelligent, scalable, and reliable automation. By leveraging advanced machine learning, data engineering, and process analysis skills, the AI Automation Engineer ensures that automation initiatives deliver measurable improvements in efficiency, accuracy, and business value.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Review and map current manual processes to identify automation opportunities. 
  • Design, build and test AI solutions (e.g., machine learning models, agentic applications, RPA bots) to automate repetitive tasks for data management and engineering.
  • Collaborate with business and technical teams to ensure solutions meet operational needs and standards. 
  • Monitor, maintain, and continuously improve automated systems. 
  • Document solutions and provide training to end users and stakeholders. 
  • Ensure ethical, responsible, and secure use of AI technologies.
  • Collaborate with projects in ensuring any new technology or components are automated with regards to data management, security and application development.

What do I need?

To be successful in this position you should have experience in developing Gen-AI solutions, including design patterns applicable to Gen-AI applications, prompting techniques, RAG, agentic patterns. It is highly desirable if you have an understanding of the financial landscape as well as being knowledgeable in infrastructure deployment and management. In addition, candidates who demonstrate a strong understanding of data management or security will be highly regarded. 

Additional skills and experience required include:

  • Experience in developing Gen-AI solutions, including design patterns applicable to Gen-AI applications, prompting techniques, RAG, agentic patterns 
  • Experience with implementing solutions on Azure Machine Learning, Synapse and Azure AI Services 
  • Proven hands-on experience with building full stack solutions on cloud, including azure. 
  • Scripting languages such as bash, powershell
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field
  • Relevant certification Azure
