What you’ll do
As a Data Scientist, you will drive the enhancement of our product data, personalization, and customer experience by building and optimizing data-driven solutions on the Woolworths supermarkets website and app. You will work as a hands-on, autonomous owner of your projects while collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure their success.
Your work will be instrumental in improving digital experiences across our web and app platforms. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Develop and optimise machine learning models and GenAI data solutions for product data enrichment
Design and implement content scoring algorithms to enhance the quality, accuracy and relevance of product data
Implement and monitor data quality checks, load volumes, and anomaly detection to support operational efficiency and model performance
Collaborate with stakeholders across the business to understand their data needs and deliver solutions that drive measurable value
Contribute to MLOps and model development, ensuring robust monitoring and continuous improvement of deployed models
What you’ll bring
We are looking for a Data Scientist with hands-on experience and a pragmatic approach to translating complex data science methodologies into impactful business solutions.
Key Qualifications and Responsibilities:
3+ years of experience in the Data Science field as a hands-on practitioner
Strong technical expertise in machine learning, deep learning, and GenAI, with hands-on experience developing and deploying models in cloud environments (e.g., GCP, Vertex AI, BigQuery)
Experience in end-to-end machine learning model development, from data processing to evaluation
Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn)
Familiar with MLOps and CI/CD pipelines
Experience working with GCP services or other Cloud providers
A strong sense of ownership and initiative, with the ability to drive data science projects from ideation to execution
Business acumen and stakeholder management skills
