Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Manager, AI Infrastructure & Platforms to join the Digital health division.

Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourne's rapidly growing outer north.

Services are provided through our six main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn and Mernda Community Hospitals Centres and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park, Mernda and Coburg.

About the Role:

The Manager, AI Infrastructure & Platforms is responsible for leading the establishment, operationalisation, and ongoing management of cloud-based AI, machine learning, and analytics platforms across Northern Health.

Working closely with Digital Health, ICT, the Data Science Unit (DSU), and business stakeholders, the role will provide technical leadership to enable scalable, secure, and sustainable AI and data environments across AWS and Microsoft cloud platforms.

This is a key leadership role supporting the future direction of AI, machine learning, and advanced analytics capability at Northern Health.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the implementation and support of AI, machine learning, and analytics infrastructure across AWS and Azure environments
  • Support enterprise platforms including Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and associated cloud services
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify and implement fit-for-purpose AI and analytics solutions
  • Drive DevOps, MLOps, CI/CD, automation, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
  • Ensure environments are secure, scalable, governed, and aligned with cybersecurity and privacy requirements
  • Provide technical leadership on cloud architecture, AI infrastructure, and operational sustainability
  • Support platform monitoring, optimisation, incident management, and lifecycle management
  • Contribute to AI governance, operational frameworks, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Maintain awareness of emerging AI and cloud technologies to support innovation across the organisation

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience managing cloud infrastructure and AI/ML platform environments
  • Strong technical knowledge of AWS, Azure, Microsoft Fabric, Databricks, and modern data platforms
  • Experience implementing DevOps, MLOps, CI/CD, and Infrastructure-as-Code practices
  • Strong understanding of AI/ML pipelines, data architecture, and cloud operations
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement, communication, and collaboration skills
  • Experience working within complex enterprise or healthcare environments highly regarded
  • A passion for innovation, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
