We’ve partnered with a leading global technology innovator that’s scaling a world-class AI engineering team here in Australia. This team is building a next-generation document-intelligence platform from the ground up, combining computer vision, NLP, and large-language-model research to solve some of the most complex problems in document automation and understanding.
This isn’t a “prompt-engineering” or fine-tuning role.

It’s true deep-tech! building foundational AI systems alongside top ML minds in the US and Australia, backed by a significant R&D budget and a clear mandate for innovation.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, build, and train AI models for NLP, LLMs, OCR and object detection
  • Develop and optimise core model architectures, nothing pre-built or off-the-shelf
  • Collaborate with global researchers, principal engineers, and data scientists
  • Contribute to a new AI platform driving document intelligence at enterprise scale
  • Work across the full lifecycle: experimentation → model design → deployment → evaluation
Tech Environment
  • Python, PyTorch, TensorFlow
  • YOLO / Object Detection, Transformers / LLMs
  • Computer-vision pipelines & custom training infrastructure
  • Experience with NLP, OCR, or multimodal architectures is highly regarded
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven experience building end-to-end ML models from scratch
  • Strong foundation in deep learning, NLP, or CV research
  • Comfortable working across uncharted, R&D-heavy environments
  • Hands-on, curious, and experimental—comfortable with ambiguity
  • Bonus: publications, open-source contributions, or PhD in a relevant field
Why Join
  • Greenfield architecture (no legacy systems)
  • Multi-million-dollar R&D investment and genuine global scale
  • Work directly with some of the world’s top AI researchers and engineers
  • Operate at the bleeding edge of applied AI
  • Flexible hybrid setup; Australia-based team with strong US collaboration
If you’re a proven Machine Learning Engineer who’s built real systems (not just used pre-trained ones) and you want to help define the future of applied AI, we’d love to chat.
