expertech is partnering with a fast-growing early-stage AI start-up that's building next-generation intelligent products used by global customers. We're looking for a Senior Software Engineer with strong experience in Python, AI, and Machine Learning to join a nimble engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and scale AI/ML-powered backend services and applications
• Develop production-grade software using Python and modern frameworks
• Work closely with founders to deploy and optimise ML models
• Contribute to architecture decisions for distributed systems and cloud-native platforms
• Take ownership of features from concept to deployment in a fast-moving start-up environment
• Collaborate in an agile, remote-first team with a strong engineering culture

Tech Stack

• Languages: Python (primary), TypeScript (nice to have)
• AI/ML: PyTorch, TensorFlow, scikit-learn, model optimisation + deployment
• Data: PostgreSQL, Redis, vector databases (Pinecone/FAISS)
• Cloud: AWS, Docker, Kubernetes
• Tools: GitHub, CI/CD pipelines, modern DevOps workflows

Skills and experience

• 5+ years of software engineering experience
• Strong Python development background
• Proven experience building or deploying ML/AI models in production
• Solid understanding of algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems
• Start-up mindset: proactive, hands-on, comfortable with ambiguity
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

This is a unique Greenfield opportunity to build an AI platform from the ground up and to work fully remotely from home. We are looking for candidates who live on the East Coast of Australia and have eligible working rights to start ASAP.
