The Opportunity

The Faculty of Information Technology is seeking a Research Fellow to advance cutting-edge research in neuro-symbolic artificial intelligence within the Department of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence, with a focus on visual reasoning and robotic systems.

The Research Fellow position involves developing novel approaches that integrate computer vision, natural language processing, and symbolic reasoning, contributing to both theoretical advances and real-world robotic applications.

The successful candidate will have a strong research background in at least two of the following areas:

  • Computer Vision
  • Natural Language Processing
  • Knowledge Representation and Reasoning / Logic
  • Robotics or Embodied AI

Experience with robotic platforms or simulation environments (e.g., ROS, Isaac Gym, Habitat, AirSim) and experience in combining symbolic reasoning with deep learning approaches will be well regarded.

This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated researcher to build their expertise, expand their research portfolio, and contribute to a rapidly growing area of global significance.
