Head of Data & AI

The Role

Join us at Bega Group in this pivotal leadership role where your first priority is to shape and deliver an organisation-wide Data & AI roadmap, bringing clarity, alignment and momentum to our transformation journey. You'll lead the enterprise data and AI strategy, guiding modernisation, governance and innovation across platforms, analytics and automation. As a trusted partner, you'll work closely with the C-suite and senior leaders, translating strategy into measurable outcomes and embedding a data-driven culture.

We're looking for a collaborative, people-focused leader who has operated in a like-for-like Head of Data / AI role, highly experienced in leading, supporting and growing high-performing teams. You'll bring expertise across data architecture, governance, cloud and AI, along with a track record of delivering sustainable outcomes and enabling others to succeed.

Responsibilities

• Advise C-suite and senior executives on leveraging data and AI to drive operational excellence, innovation, and new business models
• Create and present thought leadership, whitepapers, frameworks, and briefings on emerging trends such as generative AI, responsible AI, and data democratisation
• Lead enterprise data strategy aligned to organisational goals and ethical governance
• Own and deliver the Enterprise Data Platform roadmap from design to ongoing optimisation
• Establish robust data architecture, governance, and infrastructure, ensuring scalability, security and quality

About you

• Highly experienced senior leader across data, AI, cloud, architecture and engineering functions.
• Proven delivery of enterprise-scale data and AI platforms, achieving measurable business outcomes.
• Deep expertise in cloud ecosystems, orchestration tools, and modern enterprise data architecture and governance.
• Strong AI capability across machine learning, NLP, computer vision and generative AI frameworks.
• Influential leader with strong analytical skills, driving strategy and insights across complex organisations.
