The opportunity

Join the dynamic AI team at MinRes as an AI Engineer, where you will play a pivotal role in transforming operations across our mining, logistics, and corporate environments. In this hands-on position, you will design, develop, and deploy scalable AI solutions to drive performance, safety, and productivity across the business.

You will collaborate seamlessly with data engineers, product owners, business partners and frontline teams to turn ambitious ideas into real-world, high-impact AI outcomes. Your focus will be on building AI products that are not only technically robust but also adopted and valued at every level.

If you are passionate about experimentation and delivering practical, scalable solutions that make a genuine difference, we want to hear from you. This position will commence as a 12-month fixed term contract.

 

Your primary responsibilities:

  • Build, train, and fine-tune AI/ML models for use cases including condition monitoring, computer vision, predictive maintenance, document intelligence, and GenAI automation.
  • Develop and deploy AI applications using Databricks, Python, n8n, and cloud-native tools.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers to source, prepare, and label datasets.
  • Experience with DevOps practices and tools ideally Azure DevOps, Terraform Cloud, Azure & AWS
  • Design and implement MLOps workflows for version control, deployment, and monitoring.
  • Contribute to MinResAI (a ChatGPT-style interface) with LLM features such as RAG, summarisation, and workflow automation.

 

What is required

  • Bachelor’s or master’s in computer science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Certifications in cloud platforms (Azure, AWS), Databricks, or AI/ML technologies are desirable.
  • Extensive full stack development experience inclusive of AI Development experience in a business or industrial setting
  • Mining domain knowledge would be highly desirable
  • Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure, SQL, Python, ML frameworks, Databricks and n8n is essential
  • Familiarity with CI/CD for model deployment, and data pipelines.
  • Experience with CV models (e.g. YOLO, OpenCV) is desirable
  • ​​Uses initiative, demonstrates resilience and a continuous improvement mindset and proactive approach to problem solving  
  • ​​Understanding of system integration techniques and complexities​ ​
