Our client is a fast-growing AI business that is seeking a Lead Software Engineer.
The role is based in the Sydney CBD (1-2 days WFH) and offers a rare opportunity to enter a business at the inflection point of growth and directly influence both the software & AI engineering strategy and the customer experience.
Salary: Up to $180K + Super + 10% Bonus + ESOP
The role will see you influence product direction, solve real client problems with cutting edge tech, and give you the ability to make a meaningful impact.
What You’ll Lead & Deliver
- Architect and deliver AI, data and software solutions that solve real business problems for enterprise clients.
- Run AI Readiness Audits and design POCs that progress to full-scale product integrations.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior and C-suite stakeholders, shaping their AI strategy and roadmaps.
- Guide engineering excellence - establish scalable processes, mentor engineers, and raise technical standards.
- Drive innovation: explore new models, tools, and patterns in the rapidly evolving AI ecosystem.
- Bring 10+ years' software engineering experience, including strong cloud and hands-on build capability.
- Have genuine exposure to AI/ML, data engineering, or Generative AI (even if not your primary role yet).
- Are comfortable with ambiguity, prototypes, and constantly changing toolkits.
- Communicate complex ideas simply and influence senior stakeholders.
- Enjoy leading teams and elevating others through coaching and technical leadership.
