We’re seeking expressions of interest from talented data engineers who’d like to be considered for future opportunities at Kogan.com. As a Data Engineer at Kogan.com, you’ll help power one of Australia’s most data-driven eCommerce businesses.

You’ll design, build, and maintain reliable data pipelines, reports and visualisations that enable teams across Kogan, from Marketing to Purchasing to Finance, to make fast and informed decisions. You’ll work closely within a fast moving engineering team to ensure data is clean, accessible, and scalable across multiple systems, supporting everything from customer insights to operational automation.

What you'll do:
  • Design, build, and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines that move and transform data across Kogan’s data platforms.
  • Develop and optimise data models for analytics and reporting in systems like Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake.
  • Work with APIs, internal systems, and third-party tools to ingest data reliably and efficientlyBuild reports, visualisations and dashboards to support better insights for business teams.
  • Collaborate with engineers and analysts to ensure data integrity and performance across multiple environments.
  • Implement best practices for data quality, security,version control, and documentation.
  • Support automation of business processes and operational reportingBeing a part of innovations and experiments with AI to assess and  leverage its capability for business needs.
  • Contribute to scaling and improving Kogan’s data platform as business needs evolve.
What you'll need:
  • Solid experience with SQL and data pipeline tools (for example, Airflow, dbt, Glue, or similar).
  • Strong Python skills for scripting and data transformation.
  • Experience working with cloud data platforms (AWS preferred).
  • Familiarity with data modelling, warehousing, and analytics concepts.
  • A pragmatic, problem-solving mindset that balances speed and quality. Adaptability and active learning in dynamically evolving environmentsExcellent communication and collaboration skills with an eye for detail.

  • Experience with event streaming (Kafka, Kinesis).
  • Exposure to BI tools (Looker, Tableau).
  • Understanding of software engineering best practices (Git, CI/CD).
  • Interest in eCommerce, customer analytics, or large-scale data systems.
