Optus is an Australian telecommunications company, delivering more than 11 million services to our customers every day across mobile, broadband and digital solutions. As the Technical Product Manager for AI Platforms, you'll own and evolve Optus' enterprise AI assistant, driving adoption, reliability, and measurable business value across the organisation. This role is responsible for end‑to‑end platform operations, ensuring the AI platform is secure, scalable, and seamlessly integrated with enterprise systems. You'll shape and deliver the technical product roadmap while partnering closely with engineering, security, architecture, and business stakeholders. With a strong blend of technical depth and product mindset, you'll enable employees to access knowledge faster and work smarter through AI‑powered search and productivity solutions.

What you'll do

  • Own and operate the enterprise AI platform, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and ongoing optimisation.
  • Define and execute the technical product roadmap, leading platform enhancements, integrations, and new feature onboarding.
  • Drive governance, monitoring, incident management, and compliance with data, cybersecurity, and responsible AI frameworks.
  • Analyse usage and performance data to improve adoption, user experience, and demonstrate business value and ROI.

What makes you perfect for the role?

  • Strong background across AI, data, and enterprise platforms, with a practical understanding of how AI platforms and AI agents operate in real‑world environments
  • Experience working with SaaS and collaboration platforms (including Jira and Confluence) to support large‑scale user adoption and operational delivery
  • Proven ability to lead end‑to‑end platform and AI integration, including data onboarding, API integrations, governance, cyber considerations, and IT change management
  • Trusted technical SME who can translate complex AI and data concepts into clear processes, standards, and operating models—without requiring deep engineering delivery
  • Demonstrated strength in designing and formalising processes, including onboarding, training, escalation pathways, and controls to safely scale emerging technologies
  • Comfortable working across multiple AI and digital platforms, partnering closely with IT, operations, and data teams to embed solutions into business‑as‑usual

What's in it for you?

  • Competitive remuneration and employee discounts. Make life easier (and more affordable) with $80 monthly credit and 25% off Optus products and unique shopping discounts with our retail partners.
  • Flexible working arrangements with opportunities to work three days in the office, two days remote or home.
  • Vibrant and collaborative office campus that includes cafes, convenience store, chill out zones, GP, post office, gym and on-site childcare centre.
  • Competitive leave policies, including additional 'Connected' days to focus on culture, family, health, community, or whatever's important to you.
  • We support growing families with inclusive, carer-neutral paid Parental Leave of up to 16 weeks.
  • Direct your own development and build future-ready skills with Optus U's industry-focused micro-credentials, developed with La Trobe and Macquarie Universities.
  • Build meaningful connections through employee-led networks and diversity initiatives including Culture Connect, Elevate Women, Disability Network and Express Yourself (LGBTQIA+).
  • Put your wellbeing first with free access to counselling and support services, 24/7 — in-person, by phone, SMS, or video.

At Optus, we are strengthened by others and that means valuing diversity and saying 'yes' to embracing individual differences. We are committed to ensuring that our application process provides an equal employment opportunity to all job seekers, including individuals from diverse gender, cultural and linguistic backgrounds, individuals with a disability, individuals identifying as being part of the LGBTQIA+ community, individuals who may have served in the armed forces or who identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.
