At IAG, we’re ready for you. We're the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand. Our family of brands turns the IAG purpose of making your world a safer place into action by helping everyday Aussies and New Zealanders, supporting their ambitions and making insurance accessible.
We're looking for a visionary leader to drive the activation, adoption and evolution of data, analytics and AI products across Intermediated Business. This is a unique opportunity to influence how one of New Zealand and Australia's largest insurers uses data and AI to solve complex business challenges, unlock growth and create better outcomes for customers.
Leading a talented multidisciplinary team of data engineers, analytics engineers, analysts and AI specialists, you'll bring together strategy, technology and people leadership to turn ambitious ideas into scalable solutions that deliver real business value.
As a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, you'll identify opportunities, challenge conventional thinking, and champion what's possible through data and AI. You'll shape product roadmaps, influence strategic priorities, and ensure investments deliver measurable impact across underwriting, distribution, customer experience and operational efficiency.
This is more than a leadership role. It's an opportunity to build high-performing teams, accelerate innovation, and help shape the future of decision-making across the business.
What You’ll Do
Lead, coach and inspire a multidisciplinary team of data, analytics and AI professionals, fostering a high-performing culture of innovation, accountability and continuous improvement.
Partner with business leaders and technology teams to understand strategic priorities and identify opportunities to create value through data, analytics and AI.
Own the roadmap, adoption and ongoing evolution of the Intermediated Business 360 data product, delivering trusted customer insights that drive growth and performance.
Shape product strategies, roadmaps and investment decisions by identifying high-impact opportunities and championing the art of the possible.
Apply strong commercial and delivery judgement to recommend pragmatic solutions that balance business value, risk, cost and complexity.
Drive the prioritisation, delivery, adoption and value realisation of data and AI products, ensuring solutions are embedded into business operations.
Champion agile, product-led ways of working, promoting end-to-end ownership, rapid iteration and continuous improvement.
Build trusted relationships across business and technology teams, aligning stakeholders to deliver scalable, enterprise-focused data and AI outcomes.
This is a permanent role and offer a flexible hybrid work model based ideally in Gadigal Country (Sydney).
What You’ll Bring
Proven experience leading and developing high-performing multidisciplinary teams across data, analytics, AI or technology disciplines.
Strong business and commercial acumen, with the ability to translate strategic priorities, operational challenges and customer needs into measurable business outcomes.
Demonstrated consulting, advisory or stakeholder engagement experience, with a proven ability to influence decisions and build trusted relationships with senior leaders.
Experience shaping product strategies, roadmaps and investment priorities, balancing customer value, business benefits, cost, risk and delivery complexity.
Proven track record delivering and driving adoption of data, analytics and AI products that create tangible business value and improve business performance.
Strong understanding of modern data, analytics and AI practices, including cloud platforms, data products, Customer/Business 360 solutions and AI-enabled capabilities.
Experience leading complex business, digital or technology transformation initiatives in agile, product-led environments, with accountability for delivery and value realisation.
Excellent communication and influencing skills, coupled with experience in customer-focused industries such as insurance or financial services and a passion for building collaborative, innovative and high-performing teams.
