The Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia is seeking a technically skilled and innovative Court AI Technologist to support the design, development, implementation and optimisation of AI-enabled solutions.

The key duties of the position include:

The successful candidate will have strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills, with demonstrated experience designing, configuring or supporting AI-enabled tools, automation, chatbot platforms, workflow solutions or related technologies.

The role will initially focus on the migration jurisdiction and will contribute to the delivery of a multilingual chatbot for court users and Microsoft Copilot AI Agents to automate high-volume administrative processes associated with migration applications.

The role will work closely with operational staff, judicial support areas, content managers, subject matter experts, external suppliers and specialist shared services teams to ensure AI-enabled solutions are accurate, accessible, secure, scalable and aligned with Court operations and governance requirements.

Eligibility

Employment with the Court is subject to the conditions prescribed in the Public Service Act 1999, and the following:

  • Australian citizenship – the successful applicant must hold Australian citizenship.
  • Security and character clearance – the successful applicant must satisfy a Police Records Check and may also be required to complete security clearances during the course of their employment.
  • Successful applicants engaged into the APS will be subject to a probation period.
  • Interested candidates who have received a redundancy benefit from an APS agency are welcome to apply but note that they cannot be engaged until their redundancy benefit period has expired.
