This role sits within the Sales & CRM Crew in Institutional Banking (IB&M ITB Domain), where we design and deliver the platforms that power our institutional customer experiences.

You’ll join the Relationship Assist AI Squad, working at the intersection of platform engineering, integrations, CRM, and emerging AI capabilities. Our mission is to build the next generation of Relationship Intelligence — helping bankers engage customers with deeper insight, smarter predictions, and seamless digital experiences.

Do work that matters

As a Staff Platform Engineer, you’ll help define and deliver the platform foundations and agentic intelligence capabilities underpinning our multi‑year digital transformation.

You will:

• Build and evolve the platform capabilities that enable multi‑agent AI systems — including Client, Opportunity, Product, Liquidity, and Context Agents.

• Integrate and synthesise complex data sources (transaction activity, customer plans, market insights, product usage) to deliver intelligent, proactive insights into Customer Hub.

• Design resilient, decoupled architecture that supports always‑available, scalable, high‑performing services across Sales & CRM channels.

• Partner with product, design, frontline teams and AI/ML specialists to improve insight quality and banker productivity.

• Help evolve Relationship Assist into a full Relationship Intelligence Platform powering superior pitches, smarter deal structuring, and 24/7 intelligence.

You’ll also provide strong engineering leadership across:

• Technical strategy, system design, and risk-aware architecture.

• High-quality engineering standards (DevSecOps, automation, observability, performance).

• Mentoring and uplifting engineers to deliver secure, reliable, world‑class applications.

Skills & experience that will set you up for success

You don’t need to know everything listed, but strong capability across the following will help you thrive:

Core Platform & Systems Engineering

• Designing and delivering scalable, reliable platforms on AWS.

• Designing distributed platforms that handle complex data flows and domain-driven patterns.

AI‑Enabled Platforms

• Experience building or integrating with AI/ML/agentic systems (or strong interest + systems engineering strength).

• Ability to work with data scientists/ML engineers to bring AI capabilities to production platforms.

Cloud, DevSecOps & Tooling

• AWS core services and cloud-native architecture.

• DevSecOps/CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, GitHub Actions, Snyk, SonarQube, TeamCity, etc.).

• Infrastructure as Code (Terraform or CloudFormation).

• Strong risk mindset with secure-by-design engineering.

Leadership & Technical Direction

• Leading system migrations, modernisation, and technical strategy.

• Tackling tech debt in a pragmatic, commercially aware way.

• Influencing stakeholders and building inclusive, high‑performing engineering cultures.
