Application Engineer
Permanent, fulltime position based in Melbourne
Flexible, hybrid working environment so you can balance your personal needs with work needs
A hands-on engineering role building modern, business driven applications
At AustralianSuper, we truly care about our colleagues. We know work and life are intertwined. That's why we support the diverse needs of everyone and have policies that enable us all to thrive and be truly flexible. We ensure diversity is celebrated for the opportunity it provides us all to learn and grow and deliver better outcomes for members.
Your New Role
Are you an Application Engineer who enjoys building solutions end-to-end and wants to work with modern cloud, AI and automation technologies?
Reporting to the Manager, Application Engineering, the Application Engineer is a hands-on technical role focused on developing, productionising and optimising business driven applications, functions and features across multiple teams and initiatives.
This role suits an engineer who's seen how other corporate organisations do things, and who can work autonomously, but also enjoys collaborating with architects, product teams and other engineers. You'll work across the full lifecycle (focussing more on delivery at first, with an increasing DevOps focus to follow), helping ensure solutions are scalable, reusable and aligned to engineering best practice. We're looking for someone who is experienced with AI, someone who has used AI as a copilot in day-to-day engineering, and who has also built and delivered AI solutions (including agentic solutions) in production environments.
We're looking for more than just a coder. This is a role for someone curious, adaptable and forward looking. Someone who embraces AI and automation, pushes boundaries, and is happy to challenge the status quo. Someone that will ask the questions, put forward their ideas, and is comfortable playing different roles as the Team and future ways of working evolve.
