At IAG, we're ready for you. We're the largest general insurance group in Australia and New Zealand. Our family of brands turns the IAG purpose of making your world a safer place into action by helping everyday Aussies and New Zealanders, supporting their ambitions and making insurance accessible.

Step into a leadership role that puts you at the centre of how AI is shaping the future of Group Risk. This role exists to turn artificial intelligence into something practical, trusted and genuinely valuable across our risk systems and insights. You'll take day‑to‑day ownership of delivering the Group Risk AI strategy, lead a small specialist team, and work closely with senior leaders to move ideas into action. If you enjoy operating with influence, navigating complexity and making progress in a governed environment, this is a chance to make a real mark.

This is a permanent full-time role based in Gadigal Country (Darling Park 2, Sydney), Naarm (Melbourne) or Meanjin (Brisbane).

What You'll Do

  • Support and drive delivery of the Group Risk AI strategy, translating priorities into a clear and achievable roadmap.
  • Own the Group Risk AI pipeline, managing use‑cases from intake to prioritisation, delivery and ongoing oversight.
  • Partner with Risk, Technology and Operations to design and embed AI solutions that improve judgement and insight.
  • Ensure AI solutions are designed and deployed safely, aligned to Group AI, data, security and risk governance.
  • Lead and develop a small team of AI specialists, balancing hands‑on delivery with strong people leadership.
  • Lift AI capability across Group Risk through coaching, practical examples and reusable patterns.
  • Provide clear reporting to senior forums on progress, benefits, risks and emerging themes.

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience leading specialist teams and delivering outcomes in complex, pressured environments.
  • Hands‑on experience applying AI or advanced analytics to real business or risk problems.
  • Strong understanding of risk management concepts and governance, ideally within IAG or similar environments.
  • Ability to translate strategy into practical plans and make sound prioritisation trade‑offs.
  • Confidence influencing senior stakeholders and operating with delegated authority.
  • Pragmatic mindset, curiosity and comfort working through ambiguity.
  • Tertiary qualification in Risk Management, Information Technology, Data, Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, Finance, Actuarial Studies or a related discipline. Equivalent practical experience may be considered.

What We Offer

  • Boosted superannuation with 13% as standard.
  • 20 days annual leave + 5 days MyLeave (extra leave for what's important to you).
  • Work from home and many more flexibility options with myFlex.
  • Up to 50% off personal insurance, including home and motor insurance.
  • Partner discounts on private health insurance, tech & appliances, and many more.
  • Industry-leading 20 weeks paid parental leave.
  • Access to LinkedIn Learning, the award-winning IAG Academy, study assistance and secondment opportunities.
