Help shape the future of AI in healthcare

At ResMed, we're using AI and machine learning to improve the lives of people with sleep apnea and other sleep-related conditions. With access to rich physiological, clinical, and digital health data, our Data Science team is building solutions that can make a real difference, from smarter monitoring to more personalised therapy and better patient outcomes.

We're looking for a Lead AI Enablement Scientist to help accelerate this work. This is a strategic individual contributor role for someone who loves turning complex data landscapes into clear, actionable opportunities. You'll partner with AI/ML teams to assess data readiness, identify labelling and collection needs, and enable faster, smarter development of AI products.

If you enjoy working at the intersection of data science, product, healthcare, and strategy, this role offers the chance to influence high-impact AI initiatives across the business.

What you'll do

  • Partner with AI/ML product teams and Data Science leaders to understand use cases, priorities, and business goals
  • Assess new and existing data sources to determine data availability, quality, linkage feasibility, and label readiness
  • Lead early-stage data discovery for AI/ML initiatives, identifying risks, constraints, and opportunities before major delivery begins
  • Work closely with data platform, warehouse, and engineering teams to clarify data access pathways and reusable data needs
  • Collaborate with Privacy, Legal, Medical Affairs, Product, and other stakeholders to determine feasibility and support decision-making
  • Recommend data labelling, outcome definition, and new data collection strategies to unlock high-value use cases
  • Build shared understanding of available data assets, labels, and practical constraints across teams
  • Produce clear discovery assessments and help teams move faster with better data decisions

What you bring

  • PhD or Master's in Data Science, Computer Science, Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • PhD with 3+ years, or Master's with 7+ years of relevant industry experience in data science, data engineering, or a similar field
  • Strong experience working with large, complex datasets and conducting exploratory data analysis
  • Solid foundation in data processing, statistics, and ideally digital signal processing
  • Experience with time-series data, including segmentation, feature extraction, and pattern recognition
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, and cloud/data platforms such as AWS and Snowflake
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work across technical and non-technical teams

Nice to have

  • Experience working with physiological or wearable data such as PSG, EEG, PPG, ECG, or respiratory signals
  • Healthcare or medical device experience, including familiarity with regulated environments
  • Understanding of the AI/ML product lifecycle and Software as a Medical Device (SaMD)
  • Experience working cross-functionally with Data Science, Engineering, Product, Medical Affairs, and Regulatory teams

Why this role?

This is a rare opportunity to play a key enabling role in an AI-first healthcare organisation. You won't just build models, you'll help create the data foundations that make breakthrough AI products possible. If you're excited by high-impact work, complex data ecosystems, and the chance to influence AI innovation at scale, we'd love to hear from you.
