Our strategy is to focus on creating a safe work environment where our employees feel strongly connected to our values and objectives, and where the capability of our people is key to our success. Come and be a part of this success.
About the Role
This role will be based in our Brisbane office and supported by the latest technology to engage with our sites around Australia and the globe. Reporting to the Lead System Dynamics, your focus areas include:
- Identify capability, performance improvement, and value engineering opportunities across BHP asset value chains over short-, medium-, and long term horizons.
- Engage with operations and stakeholders to identify, define, and structure business problems, including context, success measures, constraints, and potential challenges.
- Define modelling purpose and scope, selecting the appropriate modelling approach, level of detail, and data requirements to ensure System Dynamics models are fit for purpose and accurately represent real systems.
- Build, validate, document, and review System Dynamics models in AnyLogic to simulate supply chains, including mine operations, trucking and rail networks, processing plants, and product loading and dispatch.
- Collaborate with site SMEs, data analysts, and data scientists to interrogate and analyse large datasets, extract insights, identify operational and performance issues, and prepare data inputs for dynamic models.
- Define simulation cases, execute scenarios, analyse results, and create visualisations to communicate insights, findings, and recommendations that inform decision making.
- Set modelling requirements and jointly solve complex value chain problems through collaborative design and problem structuring.
- Develop and use fit for purpose models to test solutions and recommend practical, implementable actions.
- Provide technical support to projects and the team through application of your dynamic simulation expertise.
