Staff Engineer – Power Platform & Copilot Studio

Ceba and Voicebot, the bank’s award-winning virtual assistant, has handled more than 15.5 million interactions since its launch in 2018, handling everything from card activation to loan payment deferrals. Over 60% of incoming contacts are now handled end-to-end within the assistant, freeing up live agents to work on more complex cases. Ceba is the first customer facing Gen AI platform in Australia in a financial organisation which was launched on 22nd Nov 2024. The Gen AI driven chatbot platform solution consists of CoPilot Studio in Power Platform, Azure and AWS native services.  

Key Responsibilities 

• Solution Architecture & Development  

• Design and implement advanced Power Platform solutions (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) integrated with our customer facing chatbot and voicebot. 

• Build and customise intelligent agents using Copilot Studio, incorporating Generative AI and LLM orchestration. 

• Develop custom connectors and APIs for seamless integration with external and internal systems. 

• Cloud & AI Engineering  

• Leverage Azure services (Azure Functions, Cognitive Services, OpenAI) for backend logic, automation, and AI-driven features. 

• Implement AI models using Azure OpenAI, AI Builder, and Python-based frameworks for data processing and predictive analytics. 

• Governance & Compliance  

• Ensure solutions adhere to security, compliance, and governance standards. 

• Drive best practices for environment management, ALM automation, and RBAC. 

• Leadership & Collaboration  

• Mentor engineers, promote DevSecOps practices, and foster innovation within the crew. 

• Collaborate with product managers, UX designers, and business stakeholders to deliver impactful solutions. 

We’re interested in hearing from people who: 

• Pride themselves on designing and delivering robust solutions using Power Platform and Copilot Studio for messaging and automation. 

• Are knowledgeable in cloud architecture, especially Azure, and integrating AI capabilities into enterprise messaging. 

• Are comfortable developing automation and intelligent agents with Python and low-code tools. 

• Have solid hands-on experience in enterprise engineering, including solution architecture and API integration for messaging platforms. 

• Are constantly thinking outside the box to solve complex technical challenges and drive innovation in messaging and automation. 

Tech skills 

We use a broad range of tools, languages, and frameworks. Experience or exposure with some of these (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team: 

• Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse) 

• Copilot Studio and conversational AI frameworks 

• Azure cloud services (Functions, Cognitive Services, OpenAI) 

• Python for automation, AI/ML, and integration 

• API development and integration (REST, custom connectors) 

• DevSecOps and CI/CD tools (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions)
