As part of our continued growth in legal technology, we are excited to invite applications for a Legal Technology & AI Specialist to join our Legal Operations team on a 6 month conract.
This is an exceptional opportunity to work in a high-performing, collaborative team driving digital transformation and innovation across the firm. You’ll work alongside our experienced Legal Technology Solutions Consultant and support a growing number of transformative legal technology and AI projects.
About the Role
In this junior to mid-level role, you will play a key part in designing, developing, and supporting legal technology solutions that drive automation, efficiency, and value for our lawyers and clients.
You will focus on three main streams:
- Building and maintaining applications using the Microsoft 365 Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, SharePoint), and
- Developing and integrating AI-powered tools, including generative AI solutions to enhance knowledge management, document automation, and legal research.
- A good understanding of Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) with Microsoft Power Platform
This is your chance to gain hands-on experience across the full solution development lifecycle, while building your expertise in legal AI at the forefront of one of Australia’s most progressive legal operations teams.
Key Responsibilities
Technology & Automation
- Support the design and delivery of Microsoft Power Platform applications and automated workflows.
- Build custom apps, dashboards, and process automations to streamline legal and operational processes.
- Assist with integration of solutions with document management systems (DMS), knowledge repositories, and other legal tech tools.
- Support the development of AI-powered legal drafting, document automation, and contract analysis solutions.
AI & Data Innovation
- Assist with the deployment, training, and monitoring of generative AI and machine learning tools (e.g. Harvey, DraftWise, Microsoft Copilot).
- Collaborate with stakeholders to identify AI use cases and build tailored solutions that enhance legal research, precedent automation, and knowledge management.
- Contribute to AI governance initiatives and ensure tools align with ethical AI principles, security standards, and legal compliance.
- Stay current with industry trends in legal AI and data analytics, and bring fresh ideas to the table.
Stakeholder Engagement & Support
- Work closely with lawyers, knowledge managers, and IT teams to understand pain points and provide fit-for-purpose solutions.
- Help develop user guides and training resources to support the rollout and adoption of new tools.
- Deliver hands-on training sessions and provide ongoing support for both legal tech and AI platforms.
- Act as a trusted partner and problem-solver, helping our people get the most from emerging technologies
About You
Essential Experience & Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365 Power Platform – particularly Power Apps, Power Automate, Power Pages, and SharePoint.
- Exposure to AI technologies, including experience building, training, or working with AI or machine learning models.
- Strong understanding of legal or professional services workflows, including document automation or contract review.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
- A team player who’s curious, adaptable, and committed to continuous learning.
Desirable (but not required):
- Experience working in a law firm or professional services environment.
- Knowledge of legal AI applications (e.g. document review, contract analytics, or e-discovery tools).
- Familiarity with AI development tools and languages (e.g. Python, SQL, JavaScript, or NLP frameworks).
- Awareness of data privacy, AI governance, and compliance considerations in a legal context.
