Work Type: Full time

We are currently seeking a Graduate in Data Science who is interested in building a career within an industry leading Australian Employer of Choice. This role is permanent, full time.

Joining NTI's Graduate team, you'll apply your academic foundations to real-world data and AI problems, contributing to solutions that move from concept to production. You'll work with experienced practitioners, building capability across analytics, machine learning, and modern data platforms, while developing strong commercial and stakeholder skills. Supported by both your team and a broader Graduate cohort, you'll accelerate your growth in a collaborative environment. You'll contribute to high-impact initiatives such as AI-assisted decisioning, intelligent automation, and advanced analytics, delivering measurable business value.

About the role

Day to day, you will:

  • Undertake exploratory and statistical data analysis, including data extraction, transformation and quality improvement using modern data platforms
  • Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities, rapidly prototype solutions, and deliver insights that inform real business decisions
  • Design, develop and evaluate machine learning models, applying techniques across predictive analytics, optimisation and emerging AI use cases (e.g. supervised/unsupervised learning, NLP, and foundational GenAI concepts)
  • Work with data and ML pipelines, applying automation and MLOps principles to integrate analytical outcomes (e.g. dashboards, APIs, predictive outputs) into business operations and systems
  • Experiment with and apply AI capabilities, including natural language processing and large language models (LLMs), to solve business problems in areas such as risk, pricing and operations

What we would like to see from you

From a personal perspective, we'd love to see:

  • A strong hands-on attitude towards understanding new concepts and learning
  • Proactive planners and communicators who are not afraid of asking questions and challenging the status quo
  • A high level of problem-solving ability
  • Team players who have a desire to work as part of a high performing team

From a technical perspective, we'd love to see the following in your application:

  • Undergraduate degree majoring in one of the following disciplines: IT, mathematics, statistics, computer science or engineering with a strong academic record
  • Professional working experience through internships, work placements, industry projects or volunteering activities (desired but not essential)
  • Proven programming and scripting experience with Python and SQL; familiarities with tools such as Jupyter, PowerBI or Tableau
  • Familiarity with version control (Git), cloud data platforms (e.g. Azure, AWS or GCP), and data warehousing/lakehouse concepts
  • Exposure to machine learning lifecycle concepts (e.g. model development, evaluation, deployment) and MLOps practices will be highly regarded
  • Awareness or practical exposure to AI concepts such as natural language processing, large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, and responsible/ethical AI use will be highly regarded

What to expect when you're a part of the NTI family:

  • Competitive annual incentive program of up to 15% of your salary package
