Salary package: $138,182 - $144,783 per annum plus 17% superannuation

The Position
Operating under broad strategic guidance, the Senior Data Scientist is responsible for analysing data to draw insights, patterns, and conclusions that will enable the University to improve its processes or to develop new strategies. The role is required to deliver technical leadership in the development of advanced analytic solutions using statistical models, data visualization, business intelligence, machine learning, and artificial intelligence while ensuring data quality, integrity, and privacy.
The role will also be responsible for building and leading a team of Data Scientist Interns seeking to gain relevant skills and experience in data science that align with their course requirements. These interns will provide computer programming solutions and data management support for various analyses, particularly for the University's data analytics improvement and automation initiatives.
The Person
You are an experienced data scientist with a solid background working in complex organization(s). You bring demonstrated experience in conducting statistical analysis, developing predictive models, data visualization, and AI/machine learning solutions, and communicating findings to non-technical stakeholders. You have proven people-management skills, with the ability to lead, coach, and mentor data science interns. Your strong analytical and problem-solving skills enable you to make informed decisions and provide trusted advice to senior stakeholders. You are an excellent communicator, confident engaging with diverse audiences and delivering presentations, and skilled in building collaborative relationships across organisational boundaries. Experience in higher education will be highly regarded.
