Working as part of a global team, you will gain exposure to Macquarie's modern cloud‑based data technology stack while collaborating with colleagues across regions and functions.

This is a 12-month contract.

At Macquarie, our advantage is bringing together diverse people and empowering them to shape all kinds of possibilities. We are a global financial services group operating in 31 markets and with 56 years of unbroken profitability. You'll be part of a friendly and supportive team where everyone - no matter what role - contributes ideas and drives outcomes.

What role will you play?

In this role, you will join a highly collaborative team focused on building and improving data pipelines for Macquarie's Corporate Operations Group. You will work with real‑time and near real‑time data to support timely, informed business decisions. As part of a greenfield programme, you will help design and deliver new data solutions using cloud technologies, with end‑to‑end ownership of components within our data engineering environment. You will also contribute to improving reliability, performance, and usability of data products, working closely with a range of stakeholders.

What you offer

  • Demonstrated experience building and supporting data solutions using Databricks
  • A strong understanding of data and analytics concepts, such as data lakes, data pipelines, data visualisation, and reporting, with a focus on delivering clear business value
  • Experience working with modern data technologies, including Python‑based data processing, structured query languages, real‑time data streaming tools, data transformation frameworks, and cloud data warehouses (including PySpark, Spark SQL, Kafka Python, DBT & Redshift)
  • An appreciation of good data engineering practices, including data architecture, data modelling, and the management of data definitions and quality
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the confidence to investigate complex issues, take ownership, and see them through to resolution while working effectively with others.

We love hearing from anyone inspired to build a better future with us, if you're excited about the role or working at Macquarie we encourage you to apply.
