A fast-growing national retail business is expanding its AI capability and looking for a highly capable AI Product Owner to lead the strategy, delivery, and evolution of their next generation of AI-driven products. This is a hands-on contract role where you'll partner closely with engineering, data, and architecture teams to take concepts from ideation through to production at scale.

A fast-growing national retail business is expanding its AI capability and looking for a highly capable AI Product Owner to lead the strategy, delivery, and evolution of their next generation of AI-driven products. This is a hands-on contract role where you'll partner closely with engineering, data, and architecture teams to take concepts from ideation through to production at scale.
What You'll Do
- Own the end-to-end AI product lifecycle including strategy, roadmap, delivery, iteration.
- Translate business needs into clear technical requirements, user stories, and measurable outcomes.
- Lead cross-functional squads to design, build, and deploy AI features that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
- Work closely with architects to shape solution design, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment to enterprise standards.
- Contribute to hands-on engineering decisions, model selection, data pipelines, integration patterns, cloud architecture.
- Drive experimentation frameworks, evaluate model performance, and iterate based on evidence and customer value.
- Communicate priorities, progress, and benefits to stakeholders across tech and the wider business.
- Proven experience as a Product Owner or Product Manager in AI, ML, Data, or Automation.
- Strong understanding of modern architecture patterns (microservices, event-driven systems, cloud-native).
- Ability to contribute to technical discussions across AI engineering, data pipelines, APIs, and integration.
- Experience working with AI/ML technologies (e.g., LLMs, NLP, recommender systems, prediction models, Python).
- Excellent stakeholder management, prioritisation, and communication skills.
- Background in retail, ecommerce, supply chain, consumer products, or other high-volume B2C environments (bonus).
- 6+ month contract with strong potential to extend
