AI Product Owner - 6+ Month Contract (Retail | Melbourne)

A fast-growing national retail business is expanding its AI capability and looking for a highly capable AI Product Owner to lead the strategy, delivery, and evolution of their next generation of AI-driven products. This is a hands-on contract role where you'll partner closely with engineering, data, and architecture teams to take concepts from ideation through to production at scale.

What You'll Do

• Own the end-to-end AI product lifecycle including strategy, roadmap, delivery, iteration.
• Translate business needs into clear technical requirements, user stories, and measurable outcomes.
• Lead cross-functional squads to design, build, and deploy AI features that enhance customer experience and operational efficiency.
• Work closely with architects to shape solution design, ensuring scalability, reliability, and alignment to enterprise standards.
• Contribute to hands-on engineering decisions, model selection, data pipelines, integration patterns, cloud architecture.
• Drive experimentation frameworks, evaluate model performance, and iterate based on evidence and customer value.
• Communicate priorities, progress, and benefits to stakeholders across tech and the wider business.
