AI Business Partner

Do you see an opportunity and can't help but start thinking about how to bring it to life? Do you get excited by what's possible and want to take people on the journey? Are you the person who's always exploring new technology, trying fresh ideas and finding better ways to get things done? At Permobil, we're looking for game-changers to join us as we innovate for individuals and develop the world's most advanced assistive solutions.

The Opportunity

We're seeking an energetic, commercially minded AI Business Partner to lead and drive AI adoption across our APAC business. Ideally to be based out of our Seven Hills Office, Sydney.

This isn't a traditional technology role. It's not about building complex models or analysing data behind a screen all day. It's about bringing AI to life for real people doing real work.

Working across Australia, New Zealand, Japan, Korea and Southeast Asia, you'll help teams identify opportunities, experiment with AI solutions, drive behavioural change, and embed AI into everyday workflows. You'll build trusted relationships, create excitement around what's possible, challenge fixed thinking, and move teams from curiosity to capability.

The roadmap isn't fully drawn yet. This role sits within our small, broad Digital & AI Enablement team, where processes get built as the work demands them. It's made for someone who's comfortable without a complete map and takes ownership.

The Responsibilities

Drive AI adoption across APAC:

  • Own and continuously evolve the APAC AI adoption roadmap, deciding where to start, and how to prioritise and initiate pilots through to clear, measurable outcomes.
  • Identify high-value opportunities where AI can lift productivity, quality and customer outcomes.
  • Design, launch and scale AI pilots that deliver real business impact.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Operations and Support to uncover repetitive or manual processes AI can transform.
  • Localise global AI initiatives into practical solutions that work for local markets.
  • Keep AI governance practical, balancing speed and innovation with solid standards for data, privacy and responsible use.

Build an AI movement:

  • Create, energise and lead a network of AI Champions across the region.
  • Turn early adopters and advocates into change agents.
  • Run engaging workshops, demos, training sessions
  • Help teams experience AI value first-hand, not just hear about it.

Lead change and influence behaviour:

  • Drive meaningful behaviour change through coaching, collaboration and visible quick wins
  • Help sceptics become users, and users become champions.
  • Measure adoption, track impact, and share success stories that inspire further engagement.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels without relying on positional authority.

Bring Agile ways of working to life:

  • Run initiatives through short test, learn, iterate sprint cycles rather than chasing perfection
  • Champion agility, adaptability and continuous improvement across project teams and functional teams.

Qualification

  • A degree in Business, Information Systems, Data/Computer Science, Engineering or a related field is an advantage

The Ideal Candidate

A natural self-starter - you don't wait for perfect instructions or established processes; you spot opportunities, take ownership and follow through.

Curious and future-focused - fascinated by emerging technology and always exploring new tools and ideas.

Comfortable with ambiguity - you thrive where others hesitate; when the roadmap isn't clear, you create one.

A strong communicator - you explain AI, digital tech and change in plain English everyone understands in APAC

A strong influencer - you build credibility fast and win buy-in across diverse stakeholders, functions and cultures.

A facilitator - you enjoy bringing people together, running workshops and helping others learn

Commercially minded - you understand the realities of sales, marketing and operations, and focus on practical value.

Experimental - you embrace test and learn, move quickly and continuously improve.

Responsible and pragmatic - you balance innovation with sound judgement on data privacy, compliance and responsible AI.

Benefits

  • Hybrid work arrangements
  • Learning & Development training opportunities.
  • Enjoy Birthday Leave on your special day.
  • Opportunity for a Volunteer Day to give back to the community.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for personal and professional well-being.

Excited by the opportunity?

Submit your resume and a cover letter outlining why you're the right person for the role.
