Tech and Data People are working with a leading organisation that is driving large-scale digital and data transformation. We’re looking for a Principal Data Engineer to design and deliver modern, secure, and scalable data platforms that power advanced analytics, AI/ML, and operational intelligence. This is a senior, hands-on role combining technical depth with leadership influence across engineering and business stakeholders.

What You’ll Do
  • Architect scalable platforms – design and implement cloud-native data solutions (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS/Azure) that comply with security and governance standards.
  • Champion engineering excellence – uplift practices across CI/CD, automated testing, observability, and DevSecOps.
  • Enable interoperability – build architectures that allow seamless integration across platforms, domains, and teams.
  • Mentor & lead – coach engineers and raise delivery maturity across onshore and offshore teams.
  • Strategic influence – collaborate with leaders across data, security, and architecture to shape enterprise strategy.
  • Operational reliability – design for resilience, automation, recovery, and proactive monitoring.
  • Governance by design – embed lineage, metadata, and access control into data solutions.
  • Hands-on delivery – actively contribute to building pipelines, solutions, and reusable patterns.
What We’re Looking For
  • 10+ years’ experience in data engineering, including enterprise-scale initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Azure, AWS, Databricks).
  • Hands-on skills in Python, Spark, Airflow, Kafka, DBT.
  • Infrastructure-as-Code expertise (Terraform, CloudFormation).
  • Experience delivering self-service data platforms and reusable frameworks.
  • Strong background in performance, scalability, security, and reliability.
  • Proven mentoring and leadership capability.
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.

You’ll be joining a progressive, innovative organisation at the forefront of data and cloud transformation. You’ll have the chance to set engineering standards, influence enterprise-wide strategy, and build next-gen data platforms that enable AI/ML at scale.

If this sounds like your next challenge, get in touch and we can arrange a time to discuss.
