Are you ready to transform data into actionable insights that will shape smarter decisions across the business?

The Opportunity

We're looking for an experienced Data Scientist who can own projects end-to-end, deliver sharp insights, and continuously improve machine learning and analytics products. You'll work closely with stakeholders, solve complex problems, and lead new data initiatives from idea to execution. In this role, you'll be based in our head office in Eveleigh, Sydney and reporting to the Head of Growth. Please note that this is a 12-month contract (maternity leave cover).

What you'll do:

  • Turn complex data into clear, actionable insights through delivering fast, accurate analysis and bringing it to life with using visualisation such as Tableau or Databricks dashboards.
  • Own and improve ML models, pipelines, and analytics products by keeping everything running smoothly with ongoing tuning and optimisation.
  • Lead end-to-end analytics projects, from idea to delivery, building impactful, scalable data solutions that drive real business value.
  • Collaborate across teams, partnering with stakeholders and data engineers on everything from requirements and data design to dashboards and ongoing improvements.
  • Support strong data governance by helping manage access, ensure compliance, and shape best practices that keep analytics reliable and future-ready.

What you'll bring:

You're proactive, a problem solver driven to turn data into meaningful business outcomes with strong technical expertise. You take ownership while thriving in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. You'll also have:

  • 3+ years of experience in data analytics roles with a solid foundational understanding of machine learning.
  • Strong hands-on skills in SQL and Python for working with enterprise-scale datasets, ideally on the Databricks platform; proficiency with Spark is highly advantageous.
  • Proficient with BI tools such as Tableau and have hands-on experience with the Databricks platform (ideally including AI/BI capabilities within Databricks as well) with a focus on translating complex data into clear, user-friendly insights.
  • Proven track record in partnering with internal stakeholders to define business requirements and design meaningful analytical insights.
  • Bachelor's or master's degree in computer science, data science, statistics, or related field.
