About the Role

This role exists to lift AI capability across HBF, one business area at a time. As an AI Enablement Partner, you'll be embedded alongside our business teams for a defined period suited to the business area. While there, you'll sit with frontline and operational people, understand how the work really happens, and spot where AI can genuinely help before anyone's even written it down. But the job isn't finished when a solution ships. It's finished when the team can run it, adapt it, and spot the next opportunity without you. You'll be the person who can sit in a leadership conversation and a hands-on build session in the same afternoon and add value in both.

This is a role about clear thinking: framing messy problems, weighing the options, and being honest about when AI is the right answer and when a process simply needs fixing first. Done well, that judgment is worth more than any platform.

You'll report to the Head of Emerging Technology and join a team that's building AI capability the right way - practical, governed, and centred on the people doing the work.

What You'll Do

Get close to the work. Partner with frontline and operational teams to map how things really run today, find the bottlenecks, rework and handoffs that slow people down, and design better ways of working with AI and automation built in where they add measurable value. You'll run before-and-after time studies, so the gains are real, not assumed.

Build things that work, together. Develop low-code and no-code AI solutions using Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio and Power Automate, but build them with the team, not for them. Scope each use case properly, commit to outcomes, prototype fast, and be open about what works and what doesn't. When something needs deeper engineering, you'll know it and escalate it to the Emerging Technology proof-of-concept pipeline.

Shape demand, don't just take it. Work upstream with business leaders to shape opportunities early, challenge requests constructively, and make sure what enters the pipeline is well-defined and genuinely worth doing. You'll translate technical and process complexity into plain language so non-technical stakeholders can weigh options and make confident, defensible calls.

Lead change with empathy. AI can create uncertainty, so you'll address it directly by creating space for questions and resistance, helping design AI literacy programs that reach beyond early adopters, and building skills people can use independently after the training ends. Each engagement should leave the business area stronger than you found it, with a clear handover, sustainable AI-supported workflows, documented learnings, and a stronger baseline for the next team.

This position may be based in Perth, Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne on a permanent, full-time basis.

About You

You're a sharp, curious problem-solver who enjoys getting to the bottom of how things work and finding better ways to do them. You don't need to be a developer – what matters is strong critical thinking, solid business understanding, and the confidence to use practical AI tools to make an impact. You're comfortable working independently within clear guardrails, and you bring people along with you through change.

Ideally, you will have:

  • Tertiary qualification in business, technology, or a related discipline – or equivalent practical experience.
  • 3+ years in business analysis, process improvement, transformation, or a comparable role.
  • Strong critical thinking and process analysis skills, with the ability to frame ambiguous problems and design better ways of working.
  • Practical competency with AI and low-code tools such as Microsoft Copilot, Copilot Studio, and automation builders.
  • Change management and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to communicate clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • A track record of delivering improvements and collaborating effectively across teams, while working independently within governance guardrails.
