In the role of Senior AI Engineer, you will join the AI Engineering and Research labs team that is part of the broader AI Platforms team that's doubling down on customer obsession.

In this role, you will:

• Design, build and deploy AI / agentic AI solutions (LLMs, prompts, APIs) into scalable, production-ready environments
• Apply prompt engineering techniques to improve model performance, consistency and output quality
• Conduct experimentation and evaluation to understand model behaviour and continuously optimise performance
• Develop high-quality, maintainable code using modern engineering practices and CI/CD pipelines
• Collaborate with platform, product and engineering teams to integrate solutions aligned to enterprise architectures and standards
• Implement monitoring, evaluation and guardrails to ensure reliability, safety and performance of AI systems
• Contribute to documentation, reusable patterns and uplift of engineering practices across squads
• Stay at the forefront of AI advancements and apply them pragmatically to deliver better outcomes

We're looking for people who bring:

• Proven hands-on experience delivering production-grade AI / ML / LLM solutions end-to-end.
• Strong software engineering capability (Python) with modern development, APIs and microservices.
• Experience working across cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Databricks) and large-scale data environments.
• Practical expertise in prompt engineering, evaluation and model optimisation techniques.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to solve complex problems, translate business needs into solutions, and collaborate effectively across squads.

What sets you apart (desirable):

• Experience with agent-based systems, orchestration frameworks or LLM tool integration.
• Exposure to AI evaluation, monitoring, or guardrail frameworks.
• Understanding of ethical AI considerations, bias mitigation and responsible AI practices.
• Experience working in fast-paced, agile delivery environments.
