About the opportunity
We’re seeking a hands-on leader to drive our data science and insights practice. As the Data Scientist & Insights Team Lead, you’ll deliver production-grade forecasting and machine learning solutions, lead the design of stakeholder-facing visualisations, and turn data into actionable insights.
Key Responsibilities:
- Build and operationalise predictive models in R/Python, ensuring robust experiment tracking and uncertainty quantification.
- Lead the delivery of visualisations and insight products, translating business questions into analytics that influence decisions.
- Partner with Analytical Engineering to create “gold” datasets and optimise our Qlik platform.
- Manage and coach direct reports, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Represent the Insights Division in strategic projects, ensuring data science perspectives shape policy and service design.
What You’ll Bring- Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent practical experience.
- Expert in SQL, Python or R, with strong data visualisation skills (Qlik scripting/set analysis preferred).
- Experience with cloud data platforms (e.g., Snowflake, DataBricks) and modern transformation tools (dbt).
- Proven leadership in analytics teams and end-to-end ELT/ETL workflow ownership.
- Knowledge of data management, governance, and agile delivery practices.
- CI/CD, version control, and automated testing experience desirable.
