About the role:
Rabobank's ANZ (RANZ) COO Domain is embarking on an exciting transformation with the launch of a new RANZ Data & AI Office. We aim to accelerate the delivery of our RANZ Data Strategy & unlock stronger, more connected data capabilities across the region.
As we build this critical capability, we're looking for a Data & AI Products Lead to play a pivotal role in turning strategy into impact. You will drive execution, champion adoption, & clearly articulate the value of data & AI products to stakeholders across the business. Based in Sydney, you'll report directly to the Regional Head of Data & AI (RANZ).
Top role responsibilities:
Data & AI Innovation Pipeline, Portfolio Management & Value Tracking
- Establish & lead the Data & AI Products function, aligned with global Data & AI teams
- Own the Data & AI initiative portfolio & pipeline, including a structured intake & ideation process for new use cases
- Pilot & scale solutions that deliver competitive advantage or efficiency gains
- Monitor emerging Data & AI trends & assess business applicability
- Deliver clear, executive-ready portfolio reporting on progress & value
Data Product Strategy & Design
- Define & own the RANZ data product roadmap & lifecycle framework
- Lead discovery & translate business needs into clear data product requirements
- Ensure data product design aligns with enterprise architecture & data models
- Collaborate with Analytics & AI teams to ensure data products meet real business needs
- Own & maintain the enterprise data product catalogue
Data Product Delivery
- Oversee end-to-end delivery of data products, ensuring quality, scope, & timelines are met
- Partner on data quality, controls, & readiness prior to release
- Guide data product engineering to ensure scalable, reliable & observable solutions
- Define & track data product KPIs, driving continuous improvement
- Maintain accountability for post-launch performance, adoption, & ongoing fit-for-purpose
Data & AI Literacy
- Design & lead the regional Data & AI literacy program
- Define capability baselines & track measurable uplift across the organisation
To be successful you will have:
- 10+ years' experience in a data, product or analytics/AI leadership roles in financial services or similarly complex regulated environments
- Proven ability to translate business need into well-defined data products
- Demonstrable track record building & presenting compelling business cases to senior stakeholders
- Exceptional relationship-building & collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across local & global teams
- Working knowledge of data product design principles & practices (including familiarity with modern data architecture concepts)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Azure data platform (including Fabric)
- Working knowledge of modern analytics & AI/ML approaches (including GenAI & agentic systems)
- Solid grounding in data engineering concepts to lead & oversee technical teams is preferred - without requiring hands on engineering expertise
