Are you a data leader who thrives on turning complex technology challenges into real business impact? We're looking for a highly capable leader to drive the end-to-end delivery of strategic data and technology initiatives while providing strong technical direction across our cloud-based data platforms and warehouse solutions. This role sits at the intersection of delivery leadership and hands-on technical expertise.

You'll lead teams to deliver high-quality, resilient data products at pace, ensuring solutions are scalable, trusted and aligned to business outcomes. From shaping delivery roadmaps and managing iterations through to guiding architecture and engineering decisions, you'll play a critical role in unlocking the value of data across the organisation.

You'll bring deep experience designing and building modern data solutions on Google Cloud, with strong expertise in cloud-native data engineering, data warehousing and analytics platforms. Just as importantly, you'll be passionate about leading people, driving continuous improvement and ensuring data products deliver measurable value for customers and stakeholders.

If you're excited by the opportunity to shape a modern data ecosystem while leading delivery of impactful technology initiatives, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do

  • Provide technical leadership for the design, build and delivery of cloud-native data solutions on Google Cloud, ensuring scalable, secure and reliable outcomes.
  • Lead architecture and engineering decisions across data ingestion, transformation, storage, modelling and consumption, including enterprise data warehouse solutions.
  • Deliver trusted data products that support reporting, analytics, operational decision-making and regulatory requirements.
  • Champion engineering best practice across data pipelines, orchestration, data quality, testing, observability, DevOps and production support.
  • Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture, security, risk management and data governance standards.
  • Lead end-to-end delivery planning, backlog management, sprint execution and agile governance to deliver outcomes with quality and pace.
  • Partner with business stakeholders, product owners, architects and engineering teams to translate strategic priorities into actionable delivery plans and measurable business value.
  • Mentor and influence teams through strong technical leadership, fostering a collaborative, accountable and continuously improving delivery culture while maintaining compliance with organisational policies and delegated authorities.

This is a permanent role and offer a flexible hybrid work model based ideally in Gadigal Country (Sydney) or Naarm (Melbourne).

What You'll Bring

  • Proven experience leading delivery as an Iteration Manager, Scrum Master, Technical Lead, Delivery Lead or Data Engineering Lead within complex technology and data environments.
  • Strong hands-on expertise designing, building and deploying cloud-native solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Demonstrated experience developing and supporting modern data platforms, data warehouses and large-scale analytics solutions.
  • Deep knowledge of Google Cloud data services including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Dataproc, Pub/Sub, Composer and related technologies.
  • Strong capability across data modelling, ETL/ELT design, pipeline orchestration, data quality management and performance optimisation.
  • Proven understanding of agile delivery practices, backlog management, dependency coordination and iterative delivery methodologies.
  • Experience leading and influencing cross-functional teams including engineering, architecture, testing, business analysis, product and business stakeholders.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Data or a related discipline, with Google Cloud certifications and experience in enterprise-scale, regulated environments highly regarded.
  • Experience with DevOps, CI/CD, AI-enabled data solutions and delivering business value through technology will be advantageous.

  • 20 days annual leave + 5 days MyLeave (extra leave for what's important to you).
  • Work from home and many more flexibility options with myFlex.
