This role sits within our Digital Transformation and Operations Business Unit. They are at the forefront of developing and rolling out new technologies, partnering with the business to solve complex problems, keeping Aurora Energy's data and systems secure, and much more. They collaborate with stakeholders across Aurora Energy to understand problems and identify the best way forward. They take a team-based, people-centric approach. Digital Transformation and Operations is made up of three parts. The AI Lead sits within the Digital Strategy team. Our Digital Strategy team helps drive our digital transformation and explores opportunities with the business to improve and solve problems. They're known for working closely with the business and asking a lot of curious questions to make sure that they have the information they need to make the solution fit for purpose. They look after solution architecture and design through to delivery and operation.

About the Role

As AI Lead, you'll help shape how Aurora Energy uses artificial intelligence as part of our digital transformation. You'll work across the business to spot opportunities where AI can make a real difference and help bring those ideas to life in a safe, practical and people‑focused way.

You'll partner closely with teams across Aurora Energy to unpack complex challenges, ask curious questions, and turn ideas into ethical, fit‑for‑purpose AI solutions. You'll help guide our AI capability and ways of working, while staying hands‑on where it adds the most value.

This is a great opportunity to help build Aurora's AI maturity and support better outcomes for our people and customers.

About You

You're curious, collaborative and understand how to use AI to solve meaningful problems. You like working closely with the business, getting to the heart of what's needed, and turning ideas into practical outcomes.

You'll have:

  • Experience working with AI and associated tools
  • Experience in engaging stakeholders and developing strong relationships
  • The ability to consult across different business functions to assist with their unique challenges
  • The ability to explain complex ideas in a clear and engaging way
  • Experience shaping direction or roadmaps and seeing initiatives through from idea to delivery
  • A thoughtful approach to responsible and ethical AI, including governance and risk management
  • A people‑centred mindset, with strong collaboration and influencing skills

A degree in business, strategy or technology discipline or relevant experience is required.
