About the role

We are seeking a mid-level data scientist or data analyst with proven experience delivering predictive models into production. Recent graduates will not be considered.

This role is jointly funded by the Northeast Melbourne Health Service Partnership and the Eastern Melbourne Public Health Network. The goal is to deliver a predictive algorithm and dashboard for expected wait times on relevant specialist clinic waiting lists.

A regular day will see you:
  • Analysing specialist clinic activity and waiting list data
  • Working with a data engineer to extract and build feature engineering
  • Testing and tuning predictive models (machine learning or stock and flow for example)
  • Preparing summary slides to show stakeholders the progress
  • Developing summary dashboards to show predicted wait times across hospitals and specialties.
About you

As the Data Scientist. you will be someone who has excellent communication skills, with a strong commitment to excellence in patient care. You’ll bring energy and drive to your work, and have a keen interest in developing your skillset.

To be successful in this role you’ll bring with you:
  • Strong skills in predictive modelling, clustering, natural language processing (NLP), and machine learning.
