AI Strategist (Pre-Sales), Industries

What You'll Do

As an AI Strategist (Pre-Sales) - Industries you will serve as a trusted advisor to banking, insurance, wealth management, and enterprise organizations across Australia and New Zealand. You will help customers define and accelerate their AI, analytics, and data transformation strategies by aligning business objectives with Teradata's AI Platform and ecosystem capabilities.

Operating at the intersection of business strategy and technology, you will engage with senior business and technology leaders to identify high-value AI use cases, develop transformation roadmaps, and articulate the business value of trusted AI, data modernization, and advanced analytics.

Working alongside Account Executives, Solution Engineers, Customer Success teams, and Partners, you will lead strategic customer engagements from discovery through business value realization, helping organizations move from AI experimentation to scalable enterprise adoption.

Success in this role means influencing strategic opportunities, increasing executive engagement, accelerating pipeline creation, and helping customers achieve measurable business outcomes through AI-driven transformation.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with sales teams to develop and execute AI-focused account strategies.
• Engage with C-suite executives and business leaders to understand strategic priorities and identify AI-driven transformation opportunities.
• Facilitate AI strategy workshops, executive briefings, and innovation sessions with customers.
• Identify, prioritize, and qualify high-value AI and analytics use cases aligned to customer business objectives.
• Develop AI business cases, value frameworks, and transformation roadmaps that demonstrate measurable outcomes.
• Translate complex business challenges into data, analytics, and AI solution strategies.
• Collaborate with Solution Engineering and Product teams to shape compelling customer proposals, demos and solution narratives.
• Act as a thought leader on emerging AI trends, industry innovation, regulatory considerations, and market dynamics.
• Support pipeline development, strategic pursuits, and executive sponsorship initiatives across ANZ.
• Represent Teradata at customer events, industry conferences, and executive roundtables.

Who You'll Work With

You will be part of Teradata's APJ Go-To-Market organization and collaborate closely with Account Executives, Solution Engineers, Customer Success Managers, Consulting teams, Product Management, and Ecosystem Partners. You will work with some of Australia's leading Financial Services organizations, helping them accelerate the adoption of Generative AI, Machine Learning, advanced analytics, and cloud-based data platforms. This role reports to the regional AI and Industry Leadership organization and serves as a strategic partner to both customers and sales teams across ANZ.

What Makes You a Qualified Candidate

• 8+ years of experience in pre-sales, consulting, enterprise architecture, strategy, or customer-facing advisory roles.
• Demonstrated experience working with Financial Services organizations, including banking, insurance, wealth management, or fintech sectors.
• Strong understanding of AI, machine learning, analytics, and modern data platform architectures.
• Experience engaging executive stakeholders and developing business transformation strategies.
• Proven ability to influence complex enterprise opportunities and drive strategic customer engagements.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
• Foundational AI skills and demonstrated ability to apply AI responsibly to improve business outcomes.
