Our Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Data Engineer to join our Data & Artificial Intelligence team and contribute to the design, build and delivery of enterprise data products within our Microsoft Fabric platform.

This role owns the full lifecycle of data products — from ingestion and transformation through to analytics enablement — working closely with business stakeholders, data peers and technology partners. You’ll play a key role in building scalable, governed and high-quality data assets that support insight, reporting and advanced analytics across the organisation.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Design and build enterprise data products using modern architectures, including the Medallion framework

  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines and reusable transformation patterns using PySpark

  • Design and support semantic models that enable meaningful, value-driven analytics use cases

  • Contribute to data governance initiatives including metadata, lineage, tagging and data quality

  • Ensure data security, privacy and compliance standards are embedded in all solutions

  • Support CI/CD pipelines and environment promotion workflows

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical designs

  • Participate in architecture reviews, roadmap planning and continuous improvement initiatives

About You

You’re a technically strong Data Engineer who enjoys working end-to-end — combining sound engineering practices with a strong understanding of business value.

  • 5+ years’ experience in data engineering, including cloud data platforms

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, or similar platforms such as Databricks, Azure Synapse or Snowflake

  • Strong understanding of modern data architecture principles and ELT processing

  • Proven experience with Apache Spark / PySpark

  • Experience designing semantic models and analytics-ready datasets

  • Familiarity with data quality frameworks, metadata and lineage tools

  • Strong CI/CD, Git and automated deployment experience

  • Solid understanding of data security and privacy principles

  • Confident communicator with the ability to work closely with business stakeholders

Desirable:

  • Exposure to domain-oriented data product thinking

  • Power BI, DAX or performance optimisation experience

  • Experience working in regulated or compliance-driven environments

  • Agile or Scrum delivery experience
