At our core, RSL LifeCare provides care and services to veterans and seniors who live in our communities or are receiving support at home. Our vision of creating proud communities living their best lives is at the heart of everything we do as we continue to build upon our legacy of supporting veterans and their families for more than 100 years.

This is an opportunity for you to join a large social purpose organisation where your skills and compassion will be valued and enable you to make a meaningful difference to people's lives.

We're looking for an experienced Data Product Engineer to help shape how we use data across the organisation.

  • In this role, you'll design, build, and maintain reliable, reusable data products that support everything from day‑to‑day reporting to advanced analytics and AI.
  • You'll take the lead on our curated data layer, semantic models, and enterprise KPI definitions-making sure our data is consistent, high‑quality, and easy for the business to use.
  • Your work will play a key part in getting the organisation ready for AI and helping us scale our analytics capability in a safe and efficient way.
  • You'll also collaborate closely with the BI Developer, Data Engineer and BI Developer - Insights Partner, working together to build a strong, resilient team and a data environment the whole organisation can rely on.

You will have:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, data analytics, or related field.
  • Strong experience in dimensional modelling (Kimball) and enterprise semantic model design.
  • Advanced Power BI semantic modelling skills, including DAX, KPI/measure design, and performance optimisation.
  • Hands‑on experience delivering curated analytics datasets using Microsoft Fabric (Warehouse/Lakehouse, Notebooks, Pipelines).
  • Strong SQL skills and experience implementing business transformation logic.
  • Experience defining and applying data quality rules for analytics and reporting.
  • Exposure to supporting self‑service BI through certified datasets and semantic model reuse.
  • Exposure to preparing datasets for AI and advanced analytics.
  • Ability to translate business concepts into reusable, well‑governed data products.

Desirable

  • Certifications in Power BI, Microsoft Fabric, or data analytics platforms.
  • Strong Python skills for data science use cases.
  • Experience with data quality monitoring, validation frameworks, or data observability.
  • Familiarity with data governance (classification, access controls, retention).
  • Experience with aged care or healthcare data, including regulated environments and clinical or funding datasets.

RSL Life Care offers the following benefits:

  • Not-for-profit tax benefits - salary packaging of up to $15,900 per year. This allows you to reduce your taxable income by receiving part of your salary as tax-free benefits like super contributions, car leasing, and more.
  • Staff discounts across 700 select retail stores through Maxxia Rewards
  • Fitness Passport
  • Leave Loading - 17.5% pay top up on paid leave

Our commitment to diversity:

We are proud to stand for our unique values: Do the Right Thing, Aim Higher, Care from the Heart, and Act as One team. We welcome and encourage applications from people across our diverse community, especially from Veterans, current serving ADF personnel, their families and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants. We believe everyone has the right to feel safe, respected, valued and heard regardless of their gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity or disability.

It is a mandatory requirement for a team member working in the Aged Care sector to have a valid Police Check or a valid National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) check, or potentially both, to undertake the inherent requirements of the role. Clearances must be verified prior to commencing employment with RSL LifeCare.
