As a Senior Manager in the Business Bank's Customer, Channels & Data AI Centre of Excellence, you will play a key role in developing & executing AI initiatives and strategies to uplift the capability of practitioners and leaders alike. You will be the driving force that will help build the AI capability across the whole group and work through various levels across the businesses to embed the knowledge required to deliver on our business and customer outcomes. Using your powerful combination of leadership and organisational abilities, you'll foster a growth-orientated culture of sharing, learning and problem solving across teams.

The team is focused on executing a strong path towards a customer-obsessed application of AI, to deliver critical productivity yields for our bankers and exceptional value management for all our customers.

We're interested in hearing from people who:

  • Are confident defining and owning capability uplift roadmaps to drive excellence and innovation across data science and decision science and across the group
  • Have experience in designing, developing, and implementing agentic and multi-agentic AI systems
  • Have applied experience in multi-agentic Generative AI frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, LangGraph, or OpenAI Responses API (or equivalent frameworks)
  • Can work with technical experts and work towards the most suitable solutions for the development of GenAI and AI
  • Are strong communicators with excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Can effectively collaborate with various stakeholders across the group to deliver high value and high impact initiatives
  • Are able to manage several pieces of work concurrently to completion
  • Can leverage metrics and data to inform continuous improvement that will drive the group forward with industry-leading practices
  • Have experience in statistical control and performance estimation theory
  • Are problem solvers able to navigate complexity and facilitate constructive conflict resolution
  • Are passionate about AI and generative AI interpretability and outcomes explanation, with strong analytical skills
  • Are interested in Business Banking and the development and service to Australian Businesses – both large and small
  • Are passionate about driving change, both at a technical and organisational level, who are empathetic about our journey, and who are ethical in their approach
  • Are customer-obsessed, with a keen eye to understand the why and the what that impacts customers, and who are excited by the prospect of what exceptional customer service can mean and look like in a leading Australian Business bank

Tech skills

We use a broad range of AI, Machine Learning, cloud tools and frameworks. We don't expect you to know them all but having significant experience and exposure with some of these leadership attributes (or equivalents) will set you up for success in this team.

  • Expert in AI (practical GenAI experience and agentic workflow is a bonus), built and delivered AI capabilities end to end for business stakeholders
  • Experience with agentic and multi-agentic AI systems and frameworks such as Semantic Kernel, AutoGen, LangGraph, or OpenAI Responses API
  • Experience in statistical control and performance estimation theory
  • Strong understanding of AI and generative AI interpretability and explainability
  • Great leadership expertise in leading transformational experiences and high-performing teams of Data Scientists & AI SMEs
  • Solid understanding of model risk management and compliance
  • Strong in building relationships, educating and influencing stakeholder groups
  • Innate ability of critical thinking and sound judgement
  • Ability to act with integrity, accountability and an ethical mindset focused on our customers, staff and key stakeholders
