The Data Unit is an interdisciplinary team focused on improving how the public sector uses evidence to make better decisions and policy. We work collaboratively with a broad range of agencies to address complex social, health, environmental and economic challenges facing Western Australia. Our work supports better strategy, operations and service delivery across government.

About the Role

As part of this role, you will:

  • Design and develop AI technology solutions that solve government problems,
  • Communicate technical information simply to many different audiences, and
  • Maintain awareness of new developments in AI and support stakeholders to realise its benefits.

We are looking for people with experience in AI, data engineering or technology. You don't need years of experience behind you, but you do need to be curious and adaptable, with solid technical foundations and the appetite to keep building and learning.

You will join a talented interdisciplinary team with data, technical and policy expertise that will support you to build your capability and succeed in the role.
