We are seeking an AI Risk and Controls Director, to support the Head of Responsible AI in enabling a firm-wide AI risk framework and governance model. You will be responsible for leading documenting, assessing, and managing technology, security, data and other relevant controls across the organisation to ensure alignment with Responsible AI risk management and assurance activities. You will evaluate existing controls against the Responsible AI framework, identify control gaps, and lead the development and implementation of new controls and control improvements. This requires thorough articulation of control design requirements and measurement plans, coordinating closely with the Responsible AI leadership, critical stakeholders, firm governance committees and project teams to prioritise and deliver identified control enhancements within the risk taxonomy.

What you'll do:

  • Lead the Responsible AI Controls team
  • Review current risk taxonomy and identify gaps related to AI policy and Responsible AI framework
  • Work with control owners to identify and raise gaps
  • Lead design of 'target state' risk taxonomy from perspective of Responsible AI policy and framework
  • Lead documentation and assessment of identified gaps to target state
  • Seek approval for 'target state' through relevant governance committees
  • Define and lead 'target state' implementation plan with risk owners and relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure controls and testing practices and procedures are implemented and conducted in accordance with the Controls Assurance Framework, and Responsible AI framework
  • Escalate and report on risks, control weaknesses, incidents, and issues that remain unmitigated or outside of risk appetite

  • Extensive experience in risk management and governance.
  • Expertise in governance, and control frameworks.
  • Comprehensive understanding of internal audit and risk assessment processes.
  • Ability to solve complex firm/global problems.
  • A seasoned Team Leader responsible for leading and delivering results and providing strategic direction.
  • Effective and meaningful reporting skills.
  • Ability to keep abreast with industry trends.
