The Opportunity

The Department of Electrical and Computer Systems Engineering at Monash University is seeking a Level A Research Fellow for a 12-month, research-only appointment. A Level A Research Fellow is expected to contribute to the University's research effort while developing their own research expertise through defined projects relevant to their field.

This project requires a strong background in advanced signal processing and machine learning/AI for biomedical signal analysis. The successful candidate will focus on developing algorithms to analyse optical signals extracted from video images to obtain vital signs with high accuracy.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Robust feature extraction from biomedical signals
  • Development and training of AI/machine learning models
  • Real-time validation of algorithms to ensure reliable physiological monitoring under real-world conditions

The role offers the opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research in biomedical engineering and physiological monitoring, working within a dynamic and collaborative research environment.
